Students must hold a current First Aid, Confined Space Entry Certificate (RIIWHS202D or equivalent) and Operate Breathing Apparatus Certificate (MSMWHS216 or equivalent) issued within in the last 2 years, prior to attending this course.

It is essential that the prerequisite units listed below are obtained prior to the issuance of this unit to individuals within the fire sector or the units contributing to the attainment of a fire qualification:

• Employer roles and responsibilities
• Roles and responsibilities of management and employees
• Rescue techniques and principles
• Tripods, VEDs, and rescue equipment
• Prepare for confined space rescue - ventiliation
• Operate atmospheric monitoring and ventilation equipment
• Search and rescue
• CPR
• Fire extinguisher
• Patient packaging and moving a stretcher in three dimensions
• Understand and apply lock, tag out, and isolation procedures
• Manage the rescue scene
• Conclude rescue operations

Participants must:

• Be able to read, write, and understand English
• Wear normal work clothing and enclosed footwear

Training can be conducted at your worksite or off-site at our purpose-built training facility.
