Height Safety Equipment Inspector (Emu Plains)

This is a 4 hour course with theory and practical components lasting around 2 hours each. You can choose to physically attend our training facility to undertake both theory and practical components or choose to do the theory component via e-Learning. If you choose to do the theory component via e-Learning you will need to be at our training facility for the practical component by 10am on the date the course is available (please be early as it starts at 10am sharp). The course cost is the same with either option.

This course covers the requirements for workers who are required to inspect working at heights safety equipment such as harnesses, lanyards, energy absorbers, inertia reels, and carabiners as part of the requirements in AS1891.

Successfully completing this course will allow you to inspect, create registers of, and tag height safety equipment. This course does not cover any requirements for repairing height safety equipment or the inspection of permenantly-installed safety lines, rails or installed anchorage eye bolts.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for the course.

Objectives and Content
  • Legislative Requirements: WHS and Australian Standards
  • Inspecting and testing equipment in accordance with manufactures specifications and industry procedures
  • Identify faulty equipment
  • Quarantining of equipment
  • Record keeping, including fault reporting
  • Correct rigging of anchorage slings
  • Store equipment to maintain serviceable condition
